Artifact lineage

Genomic data provenance connects every research artifact to its workflow context.

ZGL OS preserves the available lineage between a supported input, selected module, configuration, execution and output so reviewers can understand where an artifact came from.

Four questions provenance should answer.

What entered the workflow?

The supported input or sample reference and relevant available metadata.

Which logic was selected?

The module identity and explicit configuration available for the run.

What transformation occurred?

The available execution and audit records connected to the workflow.

What artifact was produced?

The resulting output, report context and available integrity information.

Provenance supports collaboration, methods review and evidence preservation.

It does not validate the scientific meaning of an input or conclusion automatically. It makes the evidence path easier to inspect.
